Dijon Mustard

Dijon mustard is a great flavor to add to sauces – and very easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces mustard powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1-3/4 cups dry white wine, or white Lambrusco
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, or coconut vinegar, or brown rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar, or honey, or simple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon pure olive oil, or palm oil

Method

  1. In small airtight container, combine mustard powder, onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt, and paprika; place on lid; shake vigorously to combine; set aside.
  2. In small saucepan, whisk together dry white wine, apple cider vinegar, agave nectar, and pure olive oil; bring to a boil.
  3. Add spice mix; whisk until very smooth; bring to a boil; drop heat to a simmer; whisk and cook until desired thickness is reached, about 5 minutes.

Pour into storage container; set aside to cool; place on lid; refrigerate for at least 2 days prior to use. Servings: 2 cups. Prep Time: 5 minutes. Cooking Time: 10 minutes.

Refrigerate up to 1 month.
